It is the mission of the United Phoenix Firefighters Association to protect and improve the quality of life in our communities through Community Partnerships, Community Service Programs and Fire and Life Safety Education. The United Phoenix Firefighters Association represents approximately 1,500 members in Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Tempe and Chandler.

On Sunday, March 9th 2008, Firefighters from all over Maricopa County and valley restaurants gathered at the Mountain Preserve Reception Center to compete in the First Annual United Phoenix Firefighters Chili Challenge.  The enormously successful event drew an estimated crowd of 1,500 people and participation in the competition from fire fighters around the valley.  The cook off was created to bring fire fighters from around to valley to cook up some great chili, have fun, and more importantly, raise money for the Firefighter Charities.
